To Become a Member
The Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union (GIEFCU) provides financial services to anyone who is employed by the Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District or by The Children's League of Springville and their families.
To become a member, you must complete a new account card, provide identification, and an initial deposit of at least $5.00 plus $1.00 as a processing fee.
Family Membership
Once you are a member at Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union, eligibility is extended to your family, regardless of where they live or work. Family members include a spouse, child, grandchild, parent or grandparent of the member.
Once a Member, Always a Member
Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union's "once a member, always a member" policy allows you to keep your membership open even if you change jobs or move away from the area.
Member Notice Regarding Identification to All Account Holders and Potential Members
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each member who opens an account.
What does this mean?
When you open an account, Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union will ask you for your name, address, birth date, driver's license, social security number, and/or other information that will allow us to identify you.
Our Mission
The Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union is a non-profit, member-owned credit union that exists to serve our members. Our purpose is to provide quality, personalized service while maintaining financial stability.
Board of Directors
The Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union Board of Directors are volunteers that are elected by the membership. The Board is responsible for the general direction and control of the Credit Union.

Supervisory Committee
The primary function of the GIEFCU Supervisory Committee is to audit and review the credit union to ensure that all records are maintained properly, honestly, and accurately; that policies established by law and by the GIEFCU Board of Directors are carried out faithfully; and that members' assets are safeguarded and used according to the purposes of the credit union.Your Supervisory Committee is composed of volunteers who are members of Griffith Institute Employees Federal Credit Union and are appointed by the Board of Directors.
